This has to be one of the funniest ads I’ve seen in a long time.
Well, okay, it’s not one ad … more like a hundred.
All spliced together into one hilarious montage.
See, this morning I watched a video called:
“Every Covid-19 Commercial is Exactly the Same”
And, it was a mash-up of all these brands’ COVID commercials, showing how they all go the same way:
*sombre piano plays*
“For over X years, ABC brand has always been here for you” …
“Now, more than ever, in these tough times” …
“Taking care of families” …
“We’ll get through this, together”.
It’s quite the laugh — I’ve linked it below.
That said:
The most interesting part to me was the good old comment section.
Cue the typical screeching about “marketing is evil”.
I love this one, for instance:
“All that money spent on advertisement while “essential” workers still make minimum wage. These companies are not here for you.”
Never mind that marketing is the very thing that brings in the money to pay those workers, hey, bucko?
Then again, if you didn’t get this concept, you probably wouldn’t be reading my emails.
Now of course, when your marketing is cookie-cutter garbage (i.e. 99% of brands, as per the COVID video), perhaps it is wasted money.
But when you invest in someone who knows how to market in a way your customers LIKE — such as Yours Australian — it’s not.

Money which they can use to pay their staff … keep the lights on … and put food on the table for their kids.
That does a lot more real good than being a social justice warrior in the comments section of YouTube … in my opinion, at least.
