On Saturday I went grocery shopping.
After getting home, I began loading the food into the fridge. And I got to the cheese.
Every week I buy a different kind of cheese, to keep our sandwiches interesting. And this week, it was Edam.
I held up the packet to Hayley:
“Hey, did you know this kind of cheese is made backwards?” I asked.
She frowned for a second.
Then she got the joke … and rolled her eyes.
(Made … Edam … yeah, who am I kidding, that didn’t take you long to work out.)
I flashed her a cheesy grin (tee-hee-hee) and carried on.
A dumb joke, I know. But that’s why she loves me.
And email marketing to your customer list is just the same:
Make them smile (even if just for a moment). Give them a break from their day with something that entertains or excites them. And they’ll grow to love you (or at least, to love hearing from you).
And eventually (as long as you’re also demonstrating expertise, not just being funny), they’ll end up buying from you …
Anyway, that’ll do me for today — time to get back to work on my first product (it’s gonna be awesome).
Speaking of which: if you want a discount on that when it launches, then put your pretty little email address in at this here page:
